What is Business Communication?
Communication that takes place at work, in the field of education, in a business office, or in the public service is called business communication and is done in the English language. It is taught under a variety of terms – Business and Business Communication English or Business Communication Workshop. We will use the terms Business Communication and Business English in rotation during these courses.
Significance of Business Communication
Business companies and government departments must establish internal and external communication. The current global business environment makes it mandatory for international and international contacts and TNCs, for a variety of purposes – such as marketing, persuasion, negotiation, marketing, and presentation. So a successful business today depends on success for the right people and the right coordinators. So business English teaching has attracted the attention and awareness of the people for the past twenty or thirty years.
Components of a Business English
The two parts of the Business English course are language knowledge that demonstrates grammatical features, vocabulary and sound system, and communication skills where we make this information work to convey messages through various channels, for example, oral channels such as presentations, meetings, phone calls. or in written texts such as letters and reports. Linguistic knowledge reflects our language skills and communication skills mean how to use that knowledge.
Scope of Business Communication
Business English and General English courses are based on the transfer of language knowledge and communication skills, but in the case of professional content, they are professional and professional communication. Therefore, the difference between English business trainers and general English trainers is partly language-related and partly communicative. The language to be produced and used in the English business class reflects the technical/professional background of the student (s) rather than the knowledge of the official components of the language. The communication channels to be developed reflect the professional world of presentations, meetings, and telephony rather than the usual communication in public discourses and listening.
